### cultural identity Irish
-the ter cultural identity seems a little dry but it means the experience for me speaking and listening to Irish brings me to the wonderful world of ireland it hauls both the treasure of the mythical and historical stories into a real and loved peerspective.
-i guess this must be the same for many people who have had to reduce how often they speak their cultural language. for reasons of immigration, political dominance, colonianism and the process of integration into a culture that is economically stable and strong. the experience of being a native english speaker while having the influence of the irisih language alsom also connects me to the experience of people who need to assimilate into another cuture or adopte another language.
### school learning german
-this experience was about discover of another people and language.
the method were ok fconsidering classes consisted of 30 teenagers in a 40minute period. -in comparison with how irish was taught it was a good example of appropriate content. irish taught from the selected works of famous literary figures often speaking of topics far removed from the lives of teenagers
appriopate material is fundamental . while steven krashen speak of comprehenssible input another aspect which frequency is forgotten is appropriate for the learner. this is why in my course the course trys to focus on relevant books and podcasts to the working world along with the conversation skill is based on the approach of the member bulding up there own favourite and ready to use phrses conversation starters and working skills. this is the appropriate input. the second aspect i include is comprehensible input where book and podcast summaries are graded by levels.
### community development<>work Portuguese
while accademic language learning brought certain abilites in irish and german it was with Portugues in Brazil that I truely aquired the language. the reason is that my disposition was that for social work to achieve a benficial and real goal the worker must identify with the local community.
this was a real privileged time where I rarely spoke english and all my interactions were in portuguese.
### accadmemic studies in new language frnech
shortly after. my time in brazil i applied to finish my studeis in france and completed a masters here. the experience was vastly different the levle of language requirment for the masters was high and I needed to strain and work hard to reach that leve. the result is that frnech is one of my strongest languages stronger than protuguese perhaps because i became better at learning, perhaps of the similiarities between the two but definitely because of the amount of reading and lecturers and public presentations i needed to do. for this reason i really recommend speaking to a carmera and recording yourself as there is a levle of stress that impacts and accelerates the acquisition phase.
### community integration urdu
this was similar to my experiemce in brazil. the situation was identifying with local cultures and working together to a social goal. the language learning experience here can be properly defined as aquisition with restrictied reference to text. as in brazil the learning process involed a period of intense 25hour weekly language classes consuming the new strucutres and vocabulary. conversation and role plays played a very low percentage. this would be my criticasm of this intense method is that we accumulated a lot without using it emough. however at the end of the period we had enough knowledge to start to begin to use the language.
another interesting aspect were the other languages spoken punjabi sindhi and how closely referenced urdu wer to them. it reminded me of the similarities of fremch and portuguese and referncing other languages has becme a cornerstone of language learning for me this play between similiarity and differences is always imteresting for me
### spare time learning chimese
chinese is definitely one of the most challenging languages and i think the circumstances i learnt it were the most unfavourable. here the circumstances play a vital role. i was working in a very busy english speaking job. and i learnt chinese in my free time. probably the period where i aquired the most was when sharing an apartment with a colleague and good chinese friend unfortunately this was only for a few months. we had a strict chinese only agreement. had i been able to stay in the same city and conitnue to share the apartment i know my chinese would have matured this is why i emphasise the role of relationships in the language learning and aquisition process. a close relationship allows a deep immersion with the language the longer and comprehensive you can make this time the better. removing the need for the principal language really sppeds up acquistiton. once you. continue to have a job or spend a larger porportion of your day in the principal language the less of the new language acquisition happens
### italian
as the country where i live italty and italian is about integration of my personal finances and propeerty in a culture. as this is the place ive choosen to live permanently it is where relationships are formed deeply and on a longer temr basis thence the language has an important functional role for ,e also.

i-ve never lived in spain and ive learnt it just to practice the language switiching skills. i think this is important and interesting aspect of learning a language
